Convert Visitor Into Subscribers

Thursday, December 9, 2010

A landing page, also referred to as a "squeeze page" or "lead capture page", is used to get subscribers onto your mailing list. In its simplest form, a landing page is a one-page document with a box for your visitor to input their name and email address to subscribe to your mailing list or newsletter.

Getting people to give their details, however, is not as easy as it would first appear. Many reasons exist for a person to withhold their personal information, such as their right to privacy and the fear of being spammed.

Here are four tips that I believe will give you a head start for creating a successful landing page. On average, a good landing page will convert one in five of your visitors into subscribers.

Firstly, and perhaps most important of all, you should offer a freebie in exchange for your visitor's email address. Offer a special report or a sample of your paid product to your visitor in exchange for their details. A good way of preparing a product to give away to your visitors is to use private label rights material. Private label rights is simply a name given to a product, or products, that you can purchase on the internet for very little money, or in some cases for free, and use in whichever way you wish. You may use the product as-is, re-write it, or combine it with other information products that you own.

Secondly, your landing page must be professionally-written. When writing your landing page, treat it as if you are writing a sales letter. While you are not necessarily trying to make a sale or trying to get someone to buy your product upfront, being able to entice your visitors to give their details to you is equally as important as selling your product.

Thirdly, other than your opt-in form and important terms and disclaimers, there shouldn't be any other links on your landing page. This is important because you don't want your visitors distracted from the task at hand. Also, avoid placing Google Adsense on your landing page.

Remember that your landing page has only one objective, and that is to legitimately acquire the names and email addresses of your visitors.

Finally, reinforce the benefits of the freebie you are offering to your potential subscribers. Focus most of the attention on encouraging your visitor to download your free offer. Later, you gently remind your prospect that he or she has nothing to pay, but just merely to subscribe to your newsletter in exchange for the freebie.

As a final thought, in order to build trust you can include your hand-written signature or a photograph of yourself explaining who you are and why your visitor should care.

Back Up Your Computer Now

Today's home computer has quickly become a center piece of modern daily life. Many of us use them every day, and depend on them for quite a bit. We use them for entertainment, for information, and to help us live our lives. It makes sense, then, that backing up this important data on our computers is becoming more and more necessary. Here I'll discuss the importance of routine computer backups, and give you a couple of popular methods that people use to do this.

First of all, imagine all the important data that is on your computer. Many people keep very important financial information on their computer that would put them in severe danger if it were lost. Others store important digital photos on their computer, and would be devastated if they were all lost. Still others have spent much time and effort creating video projects, that only exist on their hard drive. No matter what you have stored on your own hard drive, it is most definitely worth protecting.

A second reason that you need to back your hard drive consistently is that there is a real danger of something happening. Sure, you don't want your system to crash, and erase everything, but sadly, it does happen. The market place is filled with software and hardware designed to recover lost data. This is an indication of the real danger that exists.

So hopefully you are convinced that a regular computer backup is something that you should be doing on a regular basis. The question now is how do you go about doing that? The easiest solution is to buy an external hard drive. These are relatively inexpensive, and provide a simple solution. Many times you can get an external hard drive that is double or even triple the size of your internal hard drive. These can easily be set up to back up your data at intervals you select. That can provide a quick recovery should anything happen.

Another option is to sign up with an online backup service. These will back up your data just as consistently as with an external hard drive. The only difference is that you will be uploading your data to a server somewhere. The two main drawbacks of this method is that it requires a monthly fee, and you aren't in complete control of your data. If you need it in a pinch, you'll need to find a relatively quick Internet connection, or you'll be out of luck.

As you consider this information, I hope you realize of consistent backups to your computer. You know how important it is, you know the horrors of what can happen if you don't, and disaster strikes. And most importantly, you exactly how to do it. All you need to do now is make a decision.

Monetizing your  blog on mobile web using AdMob and Mippin
(techie-blogger.com)-After one of my friend’s blog started creating considerable revenue through Google Adsense, he wanted to try his luck in Mobile Advertising. I had heard about Google Adsense for Mobile Content and also rumours that mobile ads were high paying compared to the usual web ads. So I thought why not help him. Browsing number of forums and posting my thread, none drew much response. I was actually searching for plugins for monetization with Google Adsense for Mobile Content. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any. But that was when I heard about AdMob which was yet another mobile advertising networks. Just like me for many, had a doubt if it was legit? Though I don’t have much experience with it personally,  I think it’s worth giving a try as Google has recently acquired AdMob for it’s expansion, with Adsense for Mobile Content. So it’s future is not going to be dull.

The other advantage is that with mippin, you will have your webpages optimized for viewing in Mobile Browsers.
I will explain step by step about installing the plugin and Configuring with AdMob and Mippin.
1. Get your mobile version of the site registered at Mippin.
As the first step give your RSS feed URL/Website URL, Select the Layout and Customize it according to your likes.
Now for proceeding you will have to register at Mippin.com. Get it done.
2. Under the Publicize tab, give the URL  of your Mobile Webpage of your like. Give your tags. Also keep a note of the “code below”. Just Copy it into somewhere in your PC.
You will be needing the id in that code when configuring the plugin.
3. Now under the Monetize Tab, you will have to validate your website.
So copy “Mippin Feed Validation Key= XXXXXX” and publish as a post in your blog with the the copied statement as the title and content.
Then click Validate.
4. Now register for an account at AdMob. After confirming the account, login with your username and password at Admob. Click Add new Sites and App under the MARKETPLACE tab.
Now give your Mippin Site URL under the url coloumn.
Now you have to enter your admob id for getting it Click on “Here” and Click on the name of your website.
Now enter your Admob id at the coloumn at Mippin Webpage.
5.Things are almost done. Now get this Mippin plugin installed in your WordPress blog. After installation is complete go to the page of Mippin Plugin, there is a coloumn for entering Mippin id. Give the id found in the earlier code [Step2] found at the Mippin website.
6.Now just wait for a day for your ads to appear in Mippin website. Try accessing your website from the mobile.
You don’t need to manualy set the position of Mobile Ads in your website. Everything will be done by the plugin.
Best Wishes.
Just comment at the bottom if you have any trouble setting this up. I will try to help you.
